James Taylor is Research and Development Manager for Chesterfield Special Cylinders.
His extensive experience is underpinned by over 15 years in the technical design, development and engineering of high-pressure storage solutions.
As a first class Bachelor of Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering graduate from Sheffield Hallam University, He joined Chesterfield Special Cylinders in 2007 where he began as a Maintenance Technician, progressing to being a Technical Design Engineer. During this time he specialised in designing high-pressure seamless gas cylinders, tubes and pressure vessels, road trailers, fittings, processes and completing pressure systems to relevant standards.
James has an impressive understanding of the requirements for the hydrogen sector – both for ground storage, transportable solutions and regulatory requirements. His extensive experience drives his ability to precisely translate customer requirements into commercial turnkey solutions. This includes road trailers, pressure vessels, framework & fabrications, manifolding & design optimisation, design verification, Finite Element Analysis & other simulation tools.
