At the largest & most senior global hydrogen event, we spoke to the world’s hydrogen and energy leaders about the future outlook for the hydrogen industry, including H.E. Jeannette Baljeu, Regional Minister, Province of Zuid Holland.

“I’m Jeannette Baljeu, I’m the Regional Minister for the Province of South Holland and of course I’m very happy to be here in the World Hydrogen Summit because this is the main event of course for the world and in our region.
It’s important that we work through the transition and it’s already been started if you see so many participants here, everybody is working on this hydrogen world and we have to make sure that the whole value chain is working, that is why we want to make sure that we meet everybody here to get the whole value chain working in the hydrogen transition.
As a Province of South Holland we are working with the Port Authority the Port of Rotterdam of course and the municipality Rotterdam, we have to work on environmental permitting, on special permitting, but also making sure that we match the transition. So we are also funding initiatives, innovations, and we have to bring that together, we have to make sure that we’re now making steps forward. So we are already working and of course the business is already building electrolysis. That’s very important that the business is being done, we as Governments are working for example to make sure inland shipping we be cleaner, we have to regulate it. So in that sense, now we are making the steps, not plans only but making sure that it’s been done.
I love this event, the World’s Hydrogen Summit is so important, we meet people from all over the world, everybody is so much involved. It’s exhilarating that we see the growth in the event, so many more participants than last year, so hopefully next year again with even more participants.”
