Highlights from the 2020 Hydrogen Summit
The World Hydrogen Fuels Summit welcomed the international hydrogen community for 2 days of insightful debates and networking in Amsterdam last week. Some of the highlights of the Summit included:
- We heard from the Hydrogen movers of tomorrow, altogether in one room; Noe Van Holst, Joao Galamba, Christian Weinberger and too many others to name, about how Governments and the European Commission saw the future of Hydrogen shaping our societies
- The networking throughout the Summit was full of elbow shakes and responsible distancing, but insightful nonetheless with great connections across sectors being made
- A handful of passionate speakers participated via live-feed or video presentations, including David Turk from the IEA, you can watch his industry scene setting keynote here
- With a diverse representation from across the value chain, we reached a consensus on the immediate measures to prioritise including more cost-cutting of electrolysers and continued policy-making favouring hydrogen infrastructure
- The potential for heavy industry, maritime and other sectors is closer to mainstreamisation than we think – with new progress to expect in scaling up, clusters and sector coupling
- New announcements for projects in the Netherlands, Portugal and Japan, as well as the Summit coinciding with early talks on the EU’s Green Deal commitment to hydrogen deployment
- Fantastic Networking Functions including Gala Dinner and Coffee Breaks throughout the Summit hosted by Smart Energy
- Great to see the foundations for public-private collaboration with the British Embassy & DIT hosting a Drinks Reception with the theme #GreenisGreat
