The official hydrogen event in Rotterdam spoke to the world’s hydrogen and energy leaders about the future outlook for the hydrogen industry, including Student and Manager at Forze Hydrogen Racing, Sanne Zuidmeer.
We spoke with Sanne from Forza hydrogen racing. They’re a team of 60 students working on this project. They are competing against petrol powered cars to showcase what the potential of hydrogen is in the racing industry.
What has been your experience so far?
Yeah, yeah, I’m only here for the morning and now we have already talked to a lot of people and there are a lot of companies and also international, well this is really interesting and it’s good to see the whole world coming here together to talk about hydrogen and make it take it a step further. So yeah, yeah, it’s good to meet everyone.
What is your key message to audiences world-wide?
Our key message is to promote hydrogen as a future fuel, and we do this by driving on hydrogen with this car to show the potential of it. And yeah, we wanted to make this world sustainable and we’re working towards a sustainable energy transition. That’s what we’re doing here and promoting and what we like is that everyone is talking about it, but we are actually doing it, so we’re building the car and we’re racing it. So, it already works. And now the industry has to follow, so yeah.
What is your biggest takeaway from the event?
I think what I really like about us, we are students and we are already doing this, so I think as students we are able to make such a product like this. I think the industry is also capable of it, but there needs to be a lot of investments and we need to dig into the technology and push the boundaries. What we are doing. And then I think there will be a sustainable future.
