Alisdair is the Executive Director of Net Zero Atlantic (NZA), an independent, not-for-profit energy-research association that is focused on advancing Canada’s transition to a carbon-neutral future.
NZA is contributing to the development of a hydrogen economy in Atlantic Canada through the provision of reliable data, innovation, and leadership. The organization is releasing studies with topics including the feasibility of the production, storage, distribution, and use of hydrogen in the region and the socioeconomic impacts of hydrogen production for export in Nova Scotia. Further, NZA funds conceptual and early-stage genesis of novel technologies such as high-performance hydrogen leak detectors and hydrogen-fueled direct-contact water heaters for agricultural use. NZA is a co-founder of the Atlantic Hydrogen Alliance, a collection of 80 organizations with interest in the development of an economically viable clean hydrogen value chain that will enable the transition to a prosperous low-carbon economy in Atlantic Canada
Alisdair brings to NZA 30 years of experience commercializing innovation in technology-driven companies in multiple industrial sectors including renewable energy and energy efficiency. Alisdair holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng.) from Dalhousie University and a certificate in Strategic Marketing Essentials from Wharton, University of Pennsylvania.
