Andrew is presently the Chief Executive Officer of Namibian Ports Authority (Namport), the national operator for Namibia’s ports both at Walvis Bay and Lüderitz. He assumed the role in November 2020.
He is a renowned business leader, driven by a strong passion to succeed and to make a difference. He has a comprehensive array of academic qualifications underpinning his broad business leadership skills. He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), an Honours degree in Accounting and Finance and three undergraduate qualifications in the fields of Business Management, Human Resources and Public Administration.
Andrew has extensive corporate and leadership experience, harnessed over the years and spanning some of the key strategic economic sectors of banking, telecommunications, broadcasting, energy, transport, maritime and logistics. He has operated at Executive management level for the past 19 years in both the private and public sectors and honed his business leadership skills during his extensive service on various boards of major utilities and public enterprises in the country. He is actively involved in various forums focussing on the country’s and region’s economic development, the energy revolution and integration and collaboration amongst the regional maritime sector players.
He has previously served as, a non-Executive Director for the Namibia Power Corporation (NamPower) and the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), a non-Executive Director and Deputy Chairperson of the Board for Namport, a member of the Namibian Labour Advisory Council, Chairperson of the NAPOTEL Pension Board of Trustees, an independent trustee for the Erongo Dependants Trust and, co-opted Human Resources Expert Member for the Meat Board of Namibia HR Committee.
Andrew is an active member of the community where he actively serves as a patron of a school and a member of the church parish building committee.
