In 1996, Mr. Simuro began his career working as a Certified Public Accountant for both Arthur Andersen, LLP and KMPG, LLP, ultimately moving up within the firm to the position of Senior Manager. He specialized in serving the needs of his customers within the technology and financial services industries in performing assurance, process consulting, securitization, mergers and acquisitions and other agreed upon procedure projects. In 2003, he accepted the position of Executive Vice President of Cohutta Banking Company (wholly owned subsidiary of Synovus Financial Corp.), specifically charged to create new De Novo bank in Chattanooga, TN. Upon successfully creating and help lead this bank for the next 3 years, he oversaw the merger of this new bank with the existing bank in North Georgia. He was then promoted to Regional Vice President of Synovus Financial Corp and tasked to oversee all financial and strategic matters for 6 separately chartered banks in Tennessee and Georgia with assets more than 3 billion in assets under his management. In 2011 he left the financial services industry to embark into the world of small business ownership and entrepreneurship. Today Mr. Simuro owns all or portion of 7 different businesses serving in various corporate governance roles in the following industries: nonwoven fabrics, recyclable oil absorbents, metalized coating, carpet manufacturing, real estate, sensor floors and hydrogen generation.
Mr. Simuro graduated from California State University-Sacramento with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He also holds an advanced degree from Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. He also served as a part time faculty member for the Georgia Banking School and Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. He currently serves as Board of Trustee for Christian Heritage School.
