Dolf Gielen is the Hydrogen Lead in the World Bank Energy Sector Management Assistance Programme. The Bank provided US$ 1.65 bln in Hydrogen loans in 2023. A number of new projects have been approved or are in preparation. This includes various African countries. The Hydrogen for Development Partnership H4D has been established to support countries in the acceleration of their hydrogen economy. This is complemented with the 10 GW Lighthouse Initiative for bringing a substantial number of renewable hydrogen projects to FID.
Dolf has a PhD from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
