Florian Rümmele studied Chemical Engineering at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and Eindhoven University of Technology (TUe).

Heterogeneous Catalysis, Fuels in particular Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis and Computational Fluid Dynamics had been the focus of his studies before starting his Diploma project at Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Freiburg in 2012.

Since then, he led several projects and became group leader for applications of sustainable synthesis products (such as green ammonia, dimethyl ether, methanol, LOHCs) and direct air capture of CO2 in 2022.
