Dr. Groissböck joined Fichtner in 2021 as a Project Manager and Senior Consultant in the Energy Economics and Hydrogen department. His work is focused, among others, on strategy and concept studies based on techno-economic aspects, security of supply, and sustainability. He applies modeling and optimization tools to answer complex questions and underpins insights based on scenario development. His core competencies include energy economics, sector coupling, energy storage, intermittent renewables, and training of engineers in energy economics. He undertakes projects for a wide range of clients, including industrial companies, energy utilities, municipalities, and project developers.
His posts prior to joining Fichtner comprise eight years with two industrial corporations in various functions associated with energy economics, three years of research into smart buildings and smart grids, and 15 years in the analysis of national energy systems, data analytics, and IT.
He holds a PhD in Engineering Sciences from the University of Innsbruck (Austria), a Master of Science in Operations and Supply Chain Management from the University of Liverpool (UK), a Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Systems from the University of Applied Science in Burgenland (Austria), and a Bachelor of Art in European Energy Economics from the University of Applied Science Kufstein Tirol (Austria).
