Simo Säynevirta is Chair of Hydrogen Cluster Finland, a network of over 90 companies and industrial associations. The cluster welcomes international collaboration in hydrogen economy to create sustainable innovation and business opportunities in Finland, Europe and around the globe. Currently, there are over 20 billion euros of planned hydrogen investments in Finland.

Simo Säynevirta has had an extensive career at ABB, having served in various global positions in platform technology development, product management and R&D over 30 years. Today he is leading ABB’s Green Electrification ecosystem program, which develops ABB’s platform technology for the optimum generation, transmission and use of electricity and partner applications to decarbonize industry, transportation and built environment through green electrification.

Mr. Säynevirta was awarded as the ’CTO of the Year’ in Finland in 2022, by Technology Industries of Finland and Business Finland.
