The Hon Tom Koutsantonis MP is the South Australian Minister for Energy and Mining, as well as the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport.
Last year, Minister Koutsantonis led the passage of the Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Act 2023 through the parliament, which creates a direct-to-government framework for investment and approvals for renewable energy and hydrogen projects in South Australia.
The state is a renewable energy pace-setter, and is well on the way to achieving its renewable energy target with electricity generation sourced from net 100 per cent renewables by 2027.
Thanks to our world-class combination of sun and wind, abundant mineral resources, including Australia’s richest copper resource and superior magnetite iron ore, as well as proximity to government infrastructure including our planned large-scale hydrogen facility and proposed commercial-scale desalination plant, South Australia is well positioned to take advantage of the global energy transition that will drive the world’s economy for decades to come.
The South Australian Government will have a booth (stand C96) at World Hydrogen Summit Rotterdam, where representatives from the Departments for Trade and Investment, Energy and Mining, Infrastructure and Transport and the Office of Hydrogen Power SA will be available to answer questions about investing in and developing energy projects in South Australia.
